Ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, referred to as EAA, is a material with thermoplasticity and extremely high adhesion. The EAA copolymer has excellent transparency, abrasion resistance, low temperature resistance, adhesion and colorability. Its melting point, rigidity and yield tensile strength are lower than those of polyethylene, and decrease with the increase of acrylic acid (AA) content. However, with the increase of AA content, the environmental stress cracking resistance of EAA copolymer will increase.

Main Applications of Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer

  • Packaging field. Ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin can be used as the bonding middle layer of composite film to replace EVA material. At the same time, EAA resin can also be used for extrusion coating to produce beverage cartons, toothpaste tubes, cable shielding layers, etc., to play a protective role such as tear resistance, puncture resistance, and corrosion resistance.
